John Miller, Principal

John has spent over a decade living and working in Northern New Mexico and Colorado, gaining extensive municipal planning experience in Taos, Taos Ski Valley, Portland, Oregon, and most recently Telluride and Mountain Village, Colorado. His consulting work spans a wide range of project types, including resort and ski-area developments, mixed-use communities, affordable housing, and public infrastructure projects. John’s background inside local governments gives him a unique perspective on regulatory review, public process, and code interpretation, enabling Ponderosa Planning + Design to anticipate challenges, streamline entitlement strategies, and guide projects toward successful approvals across complex jurisdictions. This combination of technical knowledge and practical insight helps clients reduce risk, accelerate timelines, and make informed land-use decisions. Outside of work, John enjoys skiing and spending time on the rivers of Colorado’s Western Slope with his friends and family.
